GARY KING'S RESPONSE TO GOSPEL ASSEMBLY ARTICLE

I'm writing this in response to the article
about gossip on Glenn Goodwin's Gospel Assembly Church Site.
I must respond first with the words of Jesus
Christ in:
Luke 11:31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment
with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost
parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than
Solomon is here.
I'm glad that the wisdom of Jesus excels
Solomon's. Let's take a look at Jesus' wisdom.
Matthew 18:15-17 - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against
thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear
thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take
with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every
word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the
church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as
an heathen man and a publican.
Now, I personally told Glenn Goodwin before
I left the Des Moines Assembly that God never put him in there but his father, Vernon Goodwin did. I told him that there was un-repented sin that
was covered up by Lloyd Goodwin and Vernon Goodwin. All Glenn could say was if
God didn't put him in then God could take him out. This was all stated in my
letter dated February 9, 1998 that is on Mike Davis' Site.
This says nothing about Robert and Wanda
Mason who for years tried to get the elders of Gospel Assembly Church in Des
Moines to meet and work things out. Namely, Lloyd Goodwin, Lee Ray, Vernon Goodwin and others. Go to their web page and read the letters for yourself. Michael Davis
tried to work with Glenn Goodwin but he refused to hear.
Again in my letter dated October 1, 1998, page 2, I said: "I have written letters and
asked for council from men who should know the reason of things. Page 3, second
and third paragraph. We wanted to meet with ministers who call themselves elders
and they refused. Nobody has ever come to us personally and tried to work it
out.
Matthew 5:23-24 - Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar,
and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy
gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and
then come and offer thy gift.
Why have none of them ever come to us? We have tried going to them and they refuse to respond to us. My letter dated January 19, 1999 requesting to meet with the elders of Gospel Assembly Church in Des Moines and three eye witnesses and their subsequent refusal dated January 4, 1999 which is also on Mike's web site. This shows that the elders do not wish to resolve the local problems, therefore we have taken it before the WORLD WIDE CHURCH of Jesus Christ through the medium of the Internet.
We are not gossiping or slandering anyone. Individuals
have contacted these people and they refused to repent for their criminal acts
against young women and men in the local church. Also see letters dated, July 21, 1998 to Lee Ray with no response and July 22, 1998 to June Goodwin without any response.
According to Glenn Goodwin and the local
so-called elders (I call them yes men) because of their moral cowardice
towards those who have been wronged and their refusal to speak out against
evil.
Those in Jerusalem in - Acts 9:13
- Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much
evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: - were all workers of iniquity
and slanderer's of Paul because people were telling everyone what Paul was
doing to God's people at Jerusalem. Jesus
personally appeared to this worker of iniquity, so-called by Glenn Goodwin's
statement on their web page response to gossip, and chose him to go lay hands
on Paul and heal him. Jesus was fellow shipping a bunch of workers of iniquity
according to Glenn.
Also concerning Glenn's statement concerning
- "long forgiven transgressions" - I answer this with: "Whom did
they repent to? It certainly wasn't us or anyone else that I know of that they
wronged. Luke 17:3 - Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother
trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. We have heard of no repentance to anyone.
"So Glenn, I suppose Lloyd Goodwin's own
words to someone called Bridgett when he
called her his wife and told her he loved her was gossip too, right?" There
was only one Bridgett that I know of that played in the band. At that time,
Lloyd Goodwin was married to June Goodwin. Let's see now, I believe that would
make him an adulterer wouldn't it?
Now as far as you being an elder in Jesus
church, I would like to enlighten you. You are not an elder in Christ's church
but only in man's church. In God's church, elders search out hearsay and make
certain of complaints from people and not cut them off.
Deut. 13:12-14 - If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which
the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying, Certain men, the
children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the
inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye
have not known; Then shalt thou
enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing
certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city
with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and
the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
Then they were to execute judgment!
None of you so-called men of God have sought
out anything or inquired about anything because you cannot! You cannot because
you are not born of the truth nor do you love the truth! That makes you
unhonorable men and not fit to be elders.
In Deut. 1:16-17 - And I charged your judges at that time, saying,
Hear the causes
between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother,
and the stranger that is with him. Ye
shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great;
ye shall not be afraid of the face of
man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too
hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it. This counts all of you out doesn't it? For you all refused to hear the
cause of us small ones.
1 Cor. 6:1- Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go
to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
New Testament government says to take it
openly to the saints. Yes, let's have court in the worldwide church of Jesus
Christ over this matter or any matter as far as that goes.
Ephes. 5:6 - Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because
of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Verse
- 11 - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather reprove them.
Now this tells me not to cover it up but
make it manifest and confront them in their sin. As Mike Davis said in his message
post response: Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins
shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
None of you have done this for you are only
duplicating and continuing in the sins of your fathers and you will not prosper.
That's why God tore up the Des Moines Gospel Assembly Church.
1 Tim. 5:20 - Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also
may fear.
Let's see now, I don't see any cover-up here in Eph. 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. So good reason tells me whosoever covers up is of the darkness. AMEN!
I Tim. 1:20 - of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have
delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. No cover up here either. I guess Paul never had any
love, for here he just turned them over to Satan to learn something didn't he?
Again He must not have known that he that covereth a transgression seeketh
love.
2 Tim. 4:14 - Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord
reward him according to his works: Let's
see now, according to Glenn, Paul was gossiping to Timothy and not covering up
this man's sin.
Titus 1:10-13 - For there are many unruly and vain talkers and
deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped,
who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy
lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The
Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is
true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Now according to Glenn Goodwin's
interpretation of scripture, not only was Paul listening to evil speaking by
condoning those who spoke it by saying this witness is true.
"No, Glenn, to speak evil of someone
means that someone makes things up that are not true. This scripture proves
that to be true. If not, the Apostle Paul would not have said this witness is
true, just as our witness is true concerning Lloyd L. Goodwin and his mistreatment
of God's dear children.
3 John 1:9-11 - I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who
loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. [10] Wherefore, if
I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth," Now this apostle who is
termed the apostle of love, according to Glenn, was wrong because the scripture
Glenn uses, "he that covereth a transgression seeketh love." What did the apostle John know that Glenn doesn't
know?" prating against us with malicious words: and not content
therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them
that would, and casteth them out of the church. Beloved, follow not that which
is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that
doeth evil hath not seen God.
Now Glenn, the apostle John called
Diotrephes evil and told people not to follow him and he never made mention of
Diotrephes so called virtues. Either make the tree good and it's fruit good or
make the tree corrupt and it's fruit evil for every tree is known by its
fruits.
Matt 7:17 - He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil
hath not seen God. John called evil, evil
and told people if they followed it they were evil and that they up to that
point had not seen God. Now Lloyd Goodwin was evil and if you perpetuate his
ways, you are evil and those that follow you are evil. Contrary to Diotrephes,
Demetrius hath good report of all men. Now Lloyd Goodwin didn't and of the
truth itself; yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is
true. Evil and truth here are at odds with one another but truth will bear
witness of itself and of course you call that gossip don't you? Call it what
you may, truth will prevail in the end.
Rev. 2:2 - I know thy works, and thy labor and thy patience and how thou can not bear them which are evil: (Now here, Jesus, called evil, evil and its not to be borne with but dealt with.) And you have tried them that say they are apostles and are not and have found them to be liars. Now we tried Lloyd Goodwin who said that he was an apostle and found him to be a liar and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire.
Rev. 2:6 - But this you have that you hate the deeds of the
Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. No
covering of sin here by Jesus but he commended those at Ephesus who hated the
same things as he did. Just as Jesus will stand with us in some of the deeds of
Lloyd L. Goodwin that we hate and Jesus hated too.
Rev. 2:15-16 - So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of
the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee
quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Glenn, if you are holding a doctrine which
Jesus hates, He will fight against you with the sword of His mouth which is the
truth.
John 3:19-21- And this is the condemnation, that light is come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to
the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to
the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
That's why we left Gospel Assembly Church because we came to the light and wanted our deeds reproved and made manifest to God. If we had stayed, we would have shown ourselves to be evil because we would have had to embrace your doctrine of covering up the truth and loving darkness rather than the truth.
Ezekiel 33:13 - When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall
surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his
righteousness shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath
committed, he shall die for it.
"Glenn, so much for someone's moral
virtues when they do evil."
I believe Glenn Goodwin in his statement on
gossip is only trying to intimidate and try to make us afraid, which we are
not. We will speak boldly in our God in hopes that others would not come under
his influence but speak out boldly against evil wherever it is found.
