Sodomy (A Study)

DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing any life style, nor am I condemning any life style as long as there are no children involved. I am not condemning the Bible, as I believe it is the book that the Lord gave us to learn of him. Neither am I saying that it is irrefutable and without error. That would be foolish, in my opinion.

Having made that clear so that no one can accuse me of any of the above things, I will proceed.

Concerning homosexuality, which is never mentioned in the Bible except as translated in the New International Version of the Bible, ONE time. I study them both side by side.

In essence, from my own study of the scriptures, concerning this subject, a sodomite is a male prostitute and a whore is a female prostitute. There is no difference. This word simply means that God forbids a man or woman to prostitute themselves, especially in the shrines of the gods and goddesses of the pagan world. This has nothing to do with what we consider homosexual activity as we define it today.

Definition of Sodomite in Hebrew: A sacred person or a male devotee by prostitution to licentious idolatry.

sodomite = qadesh, kaw-dashe', Hebrew 6945; from Hebrew 6942 (qadash); a (quasi) sacred person, i.e.(technical) a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry :-sodomite, unclean.

KJV Leviticus 19:29 - Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

NIV - Leviticus 19:29 - Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.

KJV - Deut. 23:17 - There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

NIV - Deut. 23:17 - No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute.

KJV 1 Kings 14:24 - And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

NIV 1 Kings 14:24 - There were even male shrine prostitutes in the land; the people engaged in all the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.

KJV 1 Kings 15:12 - And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

NIV 1 Kings 15:12 - He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his fathers had made.

KJV 1 Kings 22:46 - And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.

NIV 1 Kings 22:46 - He rid the land of the rest of the male shrine prostitutes who remained there even after the reign of his father Asa.

KJV 2 Kings 23:7 - And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

NIV 2 Kings 23:7 - He also tore down the quarters of the male shrine prostitutes, which were in the temple of the LORD and where women did weaving for Asherah.

I will address the following scriptures:

Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Are the “laws of Moses” written to Christian’s today? Do you believe that Homosexuals or Lesbians should be put to death?

Here are some thoughts about this before we get into what “Moses’ Law” said or didn’t say: I know this is long but I have to say this to make a point.

Jesus and Paul spoke of the law as "Moses' Law" or "your law" or "their law" or "the law of Moses" or "the law of the Jews" so there must have been a difference in the Law of God and the Law of Moses or the Jews. This is the only thing that makes sense because God never changes. I'm not talking about the Moral laws such as the Ten Commandments. Those laws were not original with Moses anyway as he borrowed them from the Babylonians. (i.e. "The Stele of Hamarobi) They are Universal laws. Look it up in the encyclopedia. Nor was the rite of circumcision original with Moses. You can also find that in the encyclopedia.

John 1:17 - For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 8:5 - Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

John 8:17 - It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

John 10:34 - Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

John 15:25 - But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Acts 13:39 - And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 18:15 - But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

Acts 25:8 - While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

Acts 28:23 - And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

Romans 4:13 - For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Romans 6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 7:6 - But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Galatians 3:11 - But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:18 - For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Galatians 3:24 - Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Hebrews 10:1 - For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

James 2:10 - For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

1 Tim. 1:9 - Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Can you take one of the laws of Moses from the Old Testament and say that a born again child of the New Covenant has to keep that law?

Such as: (Now remember, some of this is talking about grown men being circumcised. Any takers?)

Genesis 17:23 - And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. Genesis 34:15 - But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; Genesis 34:22 - Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.

Is the following, what you do when you commit a sin? There are hundreds more, these are just a sample.

Leviticus 1:10 - And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish. 3:6 - And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish. 4:23 - Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish: 4:28 - Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.

Now this is a real “kicker.” Did your wife follow the following laws when your children were born?

Leviticus 12:1-8 - The LORD said to Moses, [2] "Say to the Israelites: 'A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. [3] On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. [4]Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. [5] If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding. [6] " 'When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering. [7] He shall offer them before the LORD to make atonement for her, and then she will be ceremonially clean from her flow of blood. " 'These are the regulations for the woman who gives birth to a boy or a girl. [8] If she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.' "

Now, I would like to ask you this; Does this sound like something that the God you know would tell Moses to tell the people who came back from destroying the towns of the Midianites?

Numbers 31:14-18 - Moses was angry with the officers of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--who returned from the battle. [15] "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them. [16] "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD'S people. [17] Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, [18] but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

Isn’t this nice? They get to keep all the little girls who are virgins to use for their own selves.

Here’s another: This is all women were to the Jews.

Judges 21:10-12 - So the assembly sent twelve thousand fighting men with instructions to go to Jabesh Gilead and put to the sword those living there, including the women and children. [11] "This is what you are to do," they said. "Kill every male and every woman who is not a virgin." [12] They found among the people living in Jabesh Gilead four hundred young women who had never slept with a man, and they took them to the camp at Shiloh in Canaan.

Exodus 21:1-4 - "These are the laws you are to set before them: [2] "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. [3] If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. [4] If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.

Is it okay for us to own slaves or servants?

Or beat them?

Exodus 21:20-21 - "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, [21] but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

Now, this is an interesting idea. If somebody’s ox gores a man or woman, son or daughter, the ox and the owner of the ox are to be killed. But if the ox gores one of the slaves or servants, they just give them some money and kill the ox.

Exodus 21:29-32 - [29] If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it penned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull must be stoned and the owner also must be put to death. [30] However, if payment is demanded of him, he may redeem his life by paying whatever is demanded. [31] This law also applies if the bull gores a son or daughter. [32] If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull must be stoned.

As you know, we could go on all day with these types of scenarios because the Bible is full of them. So in dealing with Old Testament law, we must take into account that Paul said that if we are going to keep even ONE of the Old Testament Laws, we are required BY LAW to keep all of them. Again, I say that if a person is going to use these Old Testament laws (including tithing) to prove whether something is wrong or right, then you have to ask yourself the questions:

Is God a respecter of persons?

Acts 10:34-36 - Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism [35] but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. [36] You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

Am I offering the animal sacrifices to atone for my sins? Do I have an altar in my backyard to offer these sacrifices of doves, lambs, goats, bull and etc.? When my wife gives birth to a child, is she following the ceremonial laws as dictated by Moses?

What I’m saying is that if you are going to use the scripture in the Old Testament laws, then ALL the other laws must be taken into account.

Paul Said:

Galatians 5:3-6 - Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised (OR ANY OTHER OT LAW) that he is obligated to obey the whole law. [4] You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. [5] But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. [6] For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

James 2:8-11 - If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. [9] But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. [10] For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. [11] For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

So basically, a person cannot use any of the Old Testament Ceremonial laws to prove a point to someone who is under the New Covenant. So we need to take this into the New Testament.

NEW TESTAMENT PART II

I am not condoning nor condemning the homosexual orientation. I am approaching the scriptures as we are admonished so that we might find out what it is really saying. We should not go to the Bible with preconceived ideas to try and “PROVE” what we want to believe but for what it is really saying. Every time I do this, I learn something that I did not know before. As I was dissecting this scripture, I was amazed at what it is really saying. What I would like to show in this study is that there is no difference in sin whether a person commits adultery or tells a lie or steals, and also that just because a person is homosexual does not make it a sin to be a homosexual anymore than if a person is a heterosexual.

I’ve already covered the Old Testament definition of Sodomite.

Sodomite = Male Shrine Prostitute

Also you will notice that this in mentioned right along with the unrighteous, fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers and extortioners.

I’m going to take this scripture apart for the meaning of each word and see what it is really saying.

1 Cor. 6:9-10 - Know ye not that the unrighteous (wicked; treacherous; specially heathen :- unjust, unrighteous) shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, (male prostitutes, whoremonger) (This was interesting because the word fornicators here means a male prostitute.)

nor idolaters, (image-worshipper (literal or figurative) This would include man-worship such as the pope or a preacher.

or adulterers, (a (male) paramour; figurative apostate :- adulterer.) (Here again the word adulterer means a “male” paramour. The American Heritage Dictionary describes Paramour as: par·a·mour n. A lover, especially one in an adulterous relationship.

nor effeminate, (of uncertain affinative.; soft, i.e. fine (clothing); figurative a catamite :- effeminate, soft.)

This could mean wearing expensive fine clothing or prideful in appearance.

nor abusers (a sodomite (Or male shrine prostitute) :- abuser of (that defile) self with mankind.) of themselves with mankind,

Here again, the (abuser) is a male shrine prostitute. And the word (mankind) also means sodomite or male shrine prostitute.

[10] Nor thieves, (a stealer (literal or figurative) :- thief)

There are also many thieves in the pulpit.

nor covetous, (holding (desiring) more, i.e. eager for gain (avaricious, hence a defrauder)

Oh, are any of us guilty of this???

nor drunkards, (a sot :-drunkard.)

Anyone ever get sloppy drunk? Being a male shrine prostitute is on the same level.

nor revilers, (abusive, i.e. a *blackguard (see definition below) :- railer, reviler.)

*black·guard
n. A thoroughly unprincipled person, a scoundrel. 2. A foul-mouthed person. To abuse verbally; revile.

We know many and even some so called men of God who would certainly fit this description.

nor extortioners, (rapacious :- extortion, ravening)

To obtain from another by coercion or intimidation This would include the many churches that coerce and intimidate their members to give until they bleed.

So none of the above shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Just as we cannot make it a sin to drink a glass of wine, after all, Jesus turned the water into wine and drank it also. But the key here is "not to become drunk with wine. So could it be that it is not a sin to be a homosexual if that person has one person they are faithful to just as in a heterosexual relationship and as long as they are not abusive or prostitute themselves to many others?

ROMANS 1:18-32 & 2:1-3 - PART III

The following scripture when taken out of context can be made to mean a lot of things but when you get down to the nitty gritty of it, it is talking about people worshiping false gods and sexual RITUALS that are performed during these ceremonies.. The things done in the temples of the gods and goddesses of Rome were barbaric and included a lot of sexual rituals and perversion. They worshiped phallic symbols and fertility gods of all kinds. Anyone acquainted with Egyptian history knows how they had so many gods in the image of animals and birds, etc.. This is something that the apostle Paul had to constantly contend with, which also goes along with his teaching about “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” The teachings of these Gnostic cults varied but one variation of the creation was that the first woman was Sophia. It’s unlikely that many of the myths existed precisely in the forms in which we now know them; and yet such ideas could not have been so widespread without a previous formulative period. To this preliminary period we assign the unorthodox mythology about Adam, Eve, and the snake. First of all, the refutation declares (1 Tim. 2:13) that Adam was created first and then Eve. The Gnostic stories envisioned things quite differently, for Eve pre-existed Adam and was responsible for infusing him with life. She was said to have been engaged in all sorts of exciting activities before the creation of Adam. As Zoë and Sophia, she was hailed among the Valentinians as a great creative power and primal parent. In another, Eve is associated with the serpent in the creation of the world and the words of the first chapter of John are applied to her. (For anyone who is really interested in knowing the truth of what the scriptures mean regarding this subject, I have two really great book recommendations.)

I said that to say this. One reason that this subject came up to me in the first place is that I knew what the Bible “seemed” to say about women that I knew was not true. So I set out to see what it was really saying regarding the subject of homosexuals. It is not because I am trying to prove anything or defend anyone in my family or etc…there is no one in my blood family that is homosexual that I know of. I just want the truth and I know for a fact that without using Biblical Exegesis, you cannot find the truth. It is amazing to me that people pick and choose what scriptures they want to take “literally” and what scriptures they want to take “spiritually.” I could get into “many” subjects along this line but I am trying to stay focused here.

Romans 1:18-29 - For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, [23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

So you can see that the main focus here of this scripture is THE WORSHIP OF FALSE GODS and GODDESSES, i.e. graven images.

[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: [25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, (To me, this means that they became “obsessed” with the body as well as pagan gods.) who is blessed for ever. Amen. [26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

The key word here is: Change –(to exchange: - change.) This means that they “changed” the way they were born. To change something, it had to be something else to start with. In these sexual fertility rituals in the pagan temples where they were worshipping the “created” beings, idols, false gods etc.. they were actually worshipping the creature. They actually worshipped the sexual organs in some cases.

[27] And likewise also the men, leaving” the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

The key word here: Leaving” - (forsake, lay aside, leave, let (alone, be, go, have), omit, put (send) away, remit, suffer, yield up.)This would be much the same as above. They forsook, laid aside, left their original sexual orientation for the perversion of the pagan rituals.

Now, there are some very important things to look at in this scripture.

[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; [29] Being filled with all:

unrighteousness, (adikia, (legal) injustice (properly the quality, by implication the act); moral wrongfulness (of character, life or act) :- iniquity, unjust, unrighteousness, wrong.)

fornication, (porneia, harlotry (including adultery and incest); figurative idolatry:- fornication.)

wickedness, (poneria, depravity, i.e. (special) malice; plural (concrete) plots, sins :- iniquity, wickedness.)

covetousness, (pleonexia, (by implication) fraudulency, extortion :- covetous (-ness) practices, greediness.)

maliciousness; (kakia, badness, i.e. (subject) depravity, or (active) malignity, or (passive) trouble :- evil, malice (-iousness), naughtiness, wickedness)

full of envy, (phthonos, ill-will (as detraction), i.e. jealousy (spite) :- envy.)

murder, (phonos, from an obsolete primary pheno (to slay); murder :- murder, + be slain with, slaughter.)

debate, (eris, er'-is, of uncertain affinity; a quarrel, i.e. (by implication) wrangling :- contention, debate, strife, variance.)

deceit, (dolos, (probably meaning to decoy; a trick (bait), i.e. (figurative) wile :- craft, deceit, guile, subtilty.)

malignity; (kakoetheia, bad character, i.e. (special) mischievousness :- malignity.)

whisperers, (psithuristes, a secret calumniator :- whisperer.)

[30] Backbiters, (katalalos, talkative against, i.e. a slanderer :- backbiter.)

haters of God, (theostuges, (stugnetos); hateful to God, i.e. impious :- hater of God.)

despiteful, (hubristes, an insulter, i.e. maltreater :- despiteful, injurious.)

proud, (huperephanos - appearing above others (conspicuous), i.e. (figurative) haughty :- proud.)

boasters, (alazon, al-ad-zone', (vagrancy); braggart :- boaster.)

inventors of evil things, (epheuretes, a discoverer, i.e. contriver :- inventorigin)

disobedient to parents, (apeithes, unpersuadable, i.e. contumacious :- disobedient.)

[31] Without understanding, (asunetos, unintelligent; by implication wicked :- foolish, without understanding.)

covenant breakers, (asunthetos, properly not agreed, i.e. treacherous to compacts :- covenant-breaker.)

without natural affection, (astorgos, as'-tor-gos, a presumed derivative of stergo (to cherish affectionately); hard-hearted towards kindred :- without natural affection.)

This is a very interesting scenario. This scripture is used to prove that sex with the same person means “without natural affection” when in reality it means a hard heart towards your own kindred or family.

implacable, (aspondos, as'-pon-dos, literal without libation (which usually accompanied a treaty), i.e. (by implication) truceless :- implacable, truce-breaker.)

unmerciful: (aneleemon, merciless :- unmerciful.)

[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Romans 2:1-3 - You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. [2] Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. [3] So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?

My final summary of this would be; there is no way that we can say that sexual contact between two people of the same sex is how God created us to be. The natural way that the human male and female are put together is pretty plain along those lines. I have known several people who were gay. I have talked to them and questioned them about it in depth. From what I gather, for two males in particular, they had no choice whatsoever in the matter.

They had been prayed over, tried to have demons cast out, gone to shrinks, took male hormones, you name it, they could not change. They told me that it was as hard for themselves to imagine being with a female, as it would be for me to imagine being with another female. Both of these young men asked me this question and it really made me think.

“Why would anyone in their right mind “choose” this lifestyle? We are condemned, persecuted, laughed at and many are even murdered because of it. We are human beings who want to be loved and have someone to love us. We want to have families and homes and be normal but how is that possible when no one accepts us. We’ve tried to change, we want to but we can’t!”

Another key here is “do they prostitute themselves” or are they loyal to one person? Is it any more wrong for a man to be a prostitute than it is for a woman? They are both equally wrong. Do they do it just for the thrill of it or is it just a perverse lust? I can’t judge a person for this. I cannot reject them as friends because of this. There are some people who are born with both sex organs. What sex are they? There are some people who are born with their hormones messed up and they may feel like a female in their emotions but are in a male body. We cannot judge this.

I’m not talking about a person who just goes out and goes from one person to another to satisfy his desire for variety. I’m not talking about a man who wants to have sex with little boys, that’s a pedophile.

I’m talking about that percentage of people who really are born this way and had no say so in it. A person can choose to not believe this but it doesn’t mean it’s not true. I do not believe that all those who “think” they are gay really are. In fact, I believe that there are not nearly as many who claim it. I believe a child can actually be “trained” to think that this is who they are because they are molested from a very young age and they are confused. These are the ones who have been able to change later in life.

I do not think they should be out there parading in the streets demanding to be accepted any more than heterosexuals are out there demanding anything. It should all be done in a private way, as it is a private, personal issue. This is what has gotten so many into trouble.

People are going to believe what they want to believe. It doesn’t matter to me what the truth is. I want only the truth. I used to be very against homosexuals and I believe that the Lord has given me a different insight into this subject.

If a person believes that a homosexual is wrong, why not just pray for them instead of trying to change them and let God do whatever He wants to do in their lives? What they are doing, even if it were a sin, is not worse than some of the things the rest of us do. We cannot judge them. Why do people make such a big deal of it? Now if they are raping people, murdering people, committing incest, molesting children and other criminal activities, they need to be turned in to the authorities. However if they are trying their best to serve God and live a clean life, why are people so worried about it? What’s the big deal anyway? What people do in their private lives, as long as it doesn’t involve criminal activities, why not just love them and accept them and if they can change, then let God take care of it. That’s not something that you can cast out like a demon of some kind.

Personally, I do not see anything wrong with these people having loving relationships as long as they are not hurting anyone else or marching in the streets naked. Those things to me are an abomination and they are only making fools out of themselves. That’s like the difference in the original women who fought for the right to vote and the ones who burned their bras in the street. There have been Homosexual and Lesbian human beings since the dawn of time and there always will be. Just as there is in the animal kingdom. It’s a hormonal thing, not a sin. (Unless they are promiscuous or prostitute themselves.)

There is hope for these brothers and sisters of ours. God loves them and he died for them just as much as he did you and I. At one time, I was just as homophobic as many people are now. But I believe that God touched my heart in this area. He’s a big enough God for us all.

This is my opinion and I feel like I have sufficiently backed this up with scripture, including Greek and Hebrew definitions. I feel like I have drawn a completely different picture here than what we have been taught. That doesn’t mean that you have to accept that. You and anyone else can do your own study and find something completely different. That’s okay too. However, that doesn’t change the facts that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. ALL OF US! We cannot make it out like the little sins that we all commit are somewhat different that other sins. They are mostly lumped together.

So I would like to see people to be accepting of others whom we don’t understand and let God take care of the rest if He wants to. Maybe He loves and accepts them just the way they are. I want to make it clear that I am not speaking of criminal offenses such as rape; incest, Pedophilia, murder, extortion, mental and spiritual abuse and the things such as we are dealing with on these websites.
