STUDY IN DISCERNMENT – JUDGMENT
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Luke - Ye hypocrites, ye can discern (judge) the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern (judge) this time?
Hebrews - But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern (judge) both good and evil.
(This is speaking to those who have “been there and done that,” so to speak.)
Matthew -16 - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(We are to shed the light on the darkness so that others may see.)
Luke - Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
Luke 12:3 - Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
(I believe that this speaks for itself. The idea is that you shouldn’t do anything in the darkness that you would be ashamed of if brought out into the light.)
John -21 - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
(It is only when someone is doing evil deeds that they would be afraid of the light.)
"WE ARE JESUS CHRIST'S SHEEP AND NONE OTHER"
Matthew - But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew 26:31 - Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
Mark - And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
John 10:2 - But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:9 - I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Acts - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
John -12 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
John 10:14 - I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Hebrews - Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
I Peter - For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Peter 5:4 - And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
"JESUS CAME AS A SAVIOUR THE FIRST TIME"
John - And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
1 Tim. 2:1 – I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1 Tim. 2:5-6 - For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Tim. 2:4 – Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1 Tim. 2:8 - I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
1 Peter - And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Romans 5:9-10 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- Esaias also crieth concerning
Romans 10:1 - Brethren,
my heart's desire and prayer to God for
"HE CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE"
(We are in the "heavenly" army of God and our warfare absolutely "IS" in the spirit realm. Our warfare "is not" carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.)
Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and Paul admonishes us to :
Galatians 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Ephes. 6:6 - Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
Matthew -50 - While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you." He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
Proverbs 28:5 - Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
2 Tim. - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
"HE COMES AS "JUDGE" THE SECOND TIME"
Acts - Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Romans 3:5 - But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
Romans - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
2 Thes. 1:8 - In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Hebrews - For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Jude 1:7 - Even
"TO JUDGE OR NOT TO JUDGE?"
(We have to measure "everything" by the word of God. We are not "The Judge" in one meaning of the word (krino - Greek) that means to condemn)
Matthew 7:1-2 - Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Luke - Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
"BUT WE ARE TO JUDGE "RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT."
John 7:24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
krino, kree'-no, Greek 2919; properly to distinguish, i.e. decide (mentally or judicially); by implication to try, condemn, punish :- avenge, conclude, condemn, damn, decree, determine, esteem, judge, go to (sue at the) law, ordain, call in question, sentence to, think.
1 Cor. 4:5 - Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Luke 12:57 - Yea, and why even of yourselves judge (or distinguish) ye not what is right?
John - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
1 Cor. 6:2-5 - Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try (judge) the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Tim. 3:12-4:8 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God ( or woman )may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. [4:1] I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2 Cor. 11:12-15 - But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Cor. 11:20 - For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
("And Jesus did not say that we should pursue "UNITY" at all cost,” in fact, He said)
Matthew -39 - Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Rev. 17:5 - And upon her forehead
was a name written, MYSTERY,
Rev. 18:2-12 - And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Proverbs -27 - Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways; go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
"SHOULD WE HAVE "SWEET COMMUNION" WITH DARKNESS?"
2 Cor. - Be ye not unequally yoked ( yoke. heterozugeo, het-er-od-zoog-eh'-o, Greek 2086; from a compound of Greek 2087 (heteros) and Greek 2218 (zugos); to yoke up differently, i.e. (figurative) to associate discordantly :- unequally yoke together with. ) together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
1 John 1:6-7 - If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
2 John 1:6-13 - And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, (didache, did-akh-ay', Greek 1322; from Greek 1321 (didasko); instruction (the act or the matter) :- doctrine, hath been taught. ) hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
NIV VERSION: 2 John 1:9 - Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ (ALL OF HIS TEACHING) does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.
(I do not claim to have done an exhaustive study but truly feel that the word of God must be rightly divided and made "balanced.")
Mark - Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Luke - But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
2 Cor. - For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
2 Cor. 4:2 - But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
Hebrews - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
"THIS IS GOD'S ADMONISHMENT"
2 Tim. - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
